The blogger panel on Thursday evening is free for everyone! Listen to skeptic bloggers from the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Romania talk about what keeps them going, how they aim to address their audiences, etc.

Gold pass

A lot of voluntary work has been put into the denkfest. Nevertheless, festival pass sales will most likely only cover about 70% of the costs. The gap is partially filled through contributions from trusts, the City and the Canton of Zürich and company sponsors.

The gold pass allows private individuals to support the denkfest and receive a counter value. The gold pass includes all elements of the festival pass. Additionally, all evening entertainment is included as well as three signed books by denkfest speakers. Unlike the festival pass, the gold pass can be transferred to another person. It costs CHF 1000.

Comedy with Vince Ebert (in German)

The well-known German physicist turned comedian Vince Ebert will show excerpts of his two most current shows «Denken lohnt sich» and «Freiheit ist alles» (thinking’s worth it and freedom is everything) – what could fit better at the thought festival of the Freethinkers?
Tickets for festival pass bearers are CHF 28, anyone else can buy a ticket for CHF 38.

Film: No Dinausaurs in Heaven

No Dinosaurs in Heaven is a film essay that examines the hijacking of science education by religious fundamentalists in the United States. It weaves together two strands: an examination of the problem posed by creationists who earn science education degrees only to advocate anti-scientific beliefs in the classroom; and a visually stunning raft trip down the Grand Canyon, led by Dr. Eugenie Scott, that debunks creationist explanations for its formation.
Eugenie Scott, who will also speak on Saturday morning during the «skeptical views on religious claims» block, will give a short introduction to the film.
Tickets are CHF 5. Participants of either of the teacher workshops can attend the film for free.

Film: The Moon Conspiracy (Die Mondverschwörung)

German with English subtitles. On Friday evening Thomas Frickel’s film will premiere in Switzerland and is shown with English subtitles for the very first time. The director sent the TV journalist Dennis Mascarenas on a fascinating investigative trip to moon worshippers and conspiracy theorists. The trip is funny in the beginning but then ends in mental abysses where Rudolf Steiner and Adolf Hitler meet (edp film).
Included in the festival pass. Separate ticket CHF 15.

Conference dinner with science slam

The conference dinner is a wonderful opportunity to strike up a conversation with fellow participants and the speakers. Additionally you can watch four science slammers present own research in a humorous manner and in no more than ten minutes.
CHF 85, for students: CHF 75 (drinks not included). Conference dinner tickets were available until Spetember 5th. Ask on site if you still want to join in.
